Conflict Mineral Policy

Document Type: Announcement
Document Date: March 1, 2025

Teijin Drain Tech Co., Ltd. is committed to sourcing raw materials responsibly under the core principles of ethics and sustainability, which help protect the human rights of everyone in the supply chain. The company strictly prohibits the procurement of minerals such as tantalum, tin, tungsten, and gold (3TG) from conflict-affected and high-risk areas, including the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Republic of the Congo, Sudan, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Zambia, Angola, Tanzania, and the Central African Republic—where such resources may be controlled by armed groups, involve human rights violations, or support unlawful labor practices in the company’s supply chain.
Therefore, the company's policy upholds the following practices in managing its supply chain to ensure that raw materials are procured from conflict-free sources:

  1. In all cases, suppliers and the supply chain must be verified in accordance with the "OECD Due Diligence Guidance" to ensure that materials are legally sourced and not supporting conflict or human rights violations. The company will suspend or terminate contracts with any parties involved in the procurement of such materials, either temporarily or until compliance with this policy is achieved.
  2. The company shall comply with local and international laws, including resolutions by the United Nations Security Council and the Dodd-Frank Act, regarding raw materials sourced from conflict-affected regions.
  3. The company regularly conducts random inspections of selected raw material suppliers' operations to verify and assess their credibility.
  4. The company encourages suppliers and supply chains to use smelters certified by the RMAP (Responsible Minerals Assurance Process) or CFS (Conflict-Free Smelters) certified by EICC & GeSI. Our policy differentiates us by delivering foams, films, and products that are free from conflict-affected raw materials to our customers and business partners. This ensures that our customers can be confident that the foams and films used in our products do not contribute to any form of conflict.
This policy shall take effect from March 1, 2025, onward.
